Get to know your local REALTOR®...
Every month you may see a report from the Niagara Association of REALTORS® informing you about what has happened in the real estate market over the last month. From that report you learn that listings are up or that sales are down or that we’ve returned to more normal market levels … whatever “normal” is for that month or that year or that decade. It is a good snapshot of the real estate market at that particular point in time.
How many other times do you notice the name of the Niagara Association of REALTORS® or NAR? You probably see or hear it more often than you think. We do a lot more than issue that monthly statistical release.
First of all, you might have seen the name on our building at 116 Niagara Street, St. Catharines. At that location, we do the work required to support our 1040+ REALTOR® Members – we provide the Multiple Listing Service® (MLS®), offer education courses, and generally work on whatever will benefit our Members and give them the tools they need to serve their buyers and sellers.
Other places you will see our name is in the local newspapers – we regularly advertise the services of our Members.
If you listen to the radio, you might also have heard our name on commercials that are airing right now. Again we are focusing on just two of the many ways in which REALTORS® help buyers and sellers.
Every year, the Members of the Niagara Association of REALTORS® hold two specific charity events:
Each January, we hold our Annual Member Celebration and Charity Ball, in June we hold our Annual Golf Tournament.
Since 2002, these two events have raised over $127,548 which has been donated to several shelter based charities throughout the Niagara Region.
The Niagara Association of REALTORS® is also a proud sponsor of Habitat for Humanity and their Annual Bike Ride.
Next time you see the name NIAGARA ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®, think beyond the housing market statistics. We are a lot more than a storehouse of statistical information; we are a collection of REALTORS® who work, live in and support our communities.
